Author JK Rowling sent us muggles into a spin yesterday, as she released a brand new 1,500-word piece from the world of Harry Potter.
It launched on the Pottermore website, detailing what Harry, Ginny, Hermione, Ron and co are up to now, from the perspective of nosey reporter Rita Skeeter.
In short, Harry’s a famous Auror. Himself and the rest of Dumbledore’s Army are VIPs in the grounds of the Quidditch World Cup where the action picks up. Harry’s about to turn 34 and there are a “couple of threads of silver” in his hair. He’s still wearing the same glasses and is of course married to Ginny.
Ginny’s a Daily Prophet reporter (much to Rita’s distaste) and is covering the event. Ron’s now the co-manager of joke shop Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes, having left employment at the Ministry of Magic, while wife Hermione is the Deputy Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
So plenty of action, which begs the question, should there be another film following the characters’ lives post-Hogwarts?
Daniel Radcliffe isn’t entirely ruling a return out.
“My inclination is to say ‘no’ because I don’t think it’s even a hypothetical at the moment,” Radcliffe tells Entertainment Wise.
“What she’s written – and I haven’t read it yet, but I will – I understand it’s a very short piece.
“He’s 12 years old than I am now. I don’t think I’ll have to worry about that for a long time.”
Of course this is getting ahead of ourselves. There would, as Radcliffe alludes to, need to be a whole new book before this could happen. But if it was possible, would you want to see more from the wizarding world on the big screen? Could you imagine Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint and more returning to their wand-wielding roles? Vote in our poll now.
