The Great British Bake Off might be heading to BBC1 this summer, but that doesn't mean BBC2 will be a cake-free channel.
The hit cooking competition, which sees Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood search for Britain's best amateur baker, is getting a spin-off show on BBC2, reports Broadcast Now.
The spin-off, called An Extra Slice, will be in the style of The Apprentice: You're Fired, which looks back at the most recent episode and catches up with the departed contestant. It will air on BBC2 directly after an episode of the Bake Off ends on BBC1.
An Extra Slice, which will be produced by Love Productions, who make the Bake Off, will also feature unseen footage from the main programme.
Of the Bake Off itself, BBC1 controller Charlotte Moore, said this week: "Bake Off is back this summer and it’s such a phenomenon, there is no need to change anything to make it fit it for BBC1."
The Great British Bake Off will be on BBC1 later this year.
