Steven Moffat: You won’t see “whopper” of a Doctor Who series 9 cliffhanger coming

Showrunner appears to confirm that he will remain at the helm of the long-running BBC sci-fi show for at least another series

With series eight of Doctor Who creeping up on us like a Weeping Angel, attention has already turned to the next series of the show – and it looks like the rumours are right, Steven Moffatt is going to remain in charge.

“Sitting here, right now, just before the finale shooting block, I’ve figured out the cliffhanger to the penultimate episode of the next series,” Moffat tells a reader in his regular column in Doctor Who Magazine.

And what is more, apparently said cliffhanger is “a whopper.”

“Ohh, I don’t think you’ll see this coming!” Adds the showrunner.

Doctor Who returns to BBC1 in August with Peter Capaldi as the Doctor
