A raft of famous faces have signed up for the new series of Who Do You Think You Are?
The 11th run of the BBC2 genealogy show will delve into the family histories of Great British Bake Off judge Mary Berry, comedian Billy Connolly and Brendan O’Carroll, whose hit BBC1 sitcom Mrs Brown’s Boys transfers to the silver screen today in Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie.
Actresses Julie Walters, Sheridan Smith and Tamzin Outhwaite will also appear in hour-long episodes when the programme returns later this summer, as will former The Voice presenter Reggie Yates, 60s icon Twiggy and veteran actors Brian Blessed and Martin Shaw.
Meanwhile, as Who Do You Think You Are? celebrates its 100th episode, a 60-minute special edition will look back over a decade of the show that has featured the likes of Jeremy Paxman, Martin Freeman, JK Rowling and David Tennant.
“The new series promises to continue to deliver BBC1 audiences the laughter, tears and surprising revelations of family ancestry as only Who Do You Think You Are? can,” said Maxine Watson, BBC’s documentary commissioning editor.
