Yesterday saw the first teaser trailer for Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 released. And we know what you're thinking.

For those of you who haven't read the books, it goes a little something like this:

So, wait... what? Why is Peeta dressed all in white? Why is he stood next to President Snow in this creepy propaganda video? And, more importantly, why is he all evil now?

It's understandable if you're a tad perplexed. The last time we saw little Mellark he was kissing Katniss on beaches and getting up to all sorts of trouble to try and keep her safe. Seems a little odd for him to have switched sides so swiftly and gone all Capitol...

Lets rewind to the end of Catching Fire, shall we? Here's what happened:

The closing minutes of the film saw Katniss find out a few truths. Mainly this: "You have been our mission from the beginning. The plan was always to get you out. Half the tributes were in on it. This is the revolution – and you are the Mockingjay."

And also this: that District 12 was no more – and that District 13 exists.

But when it comes to Peeta? All we are told is that he's "in the Capitol. They got him."

And that's where the books come in handy. Because it's okay. Peeta isn't actually evil now. He's just been brainwashed – or, more accurately, hijacked. He's been injected with Tracker Jacker venom to create specific hallucinations.

So, for future reference: He's not evil. Yay! But he does now think he despises Katniss. Boo...

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 will be in UK cinemas 21 November.
