See brand new The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 trailer

Josh Hutcherson and Donald Sutherland star, but Jennifer Lawrence is absent from the Capitol's video

The first trailer for The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 film has been released.

Sticking with the theme of the recent posters, the trailer runs as though it has come direct from the characters in Suzanne Collins’ books, in this case, Panem’s President Snow.

It’s a one minute twelve second-long propaganda-themed video, which means once again there’s no sign of Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss.

Oh, those teases.

It packs a punch though, for a video filmed almost entirely in white.

Josh Hutcherson, who plays the captured Peeta Mellark, stands eerily alongside Snow as he urges the people of the districts to resist rebellion. “If you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed.”

Let’s hope there’ll be a Katniss-themed retaliation trailer soon.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay part 1 is the first instalment of the final book’s adaptation and is in cinemas from 21 November.
