The first instalment of the two-part Hunger Games: Mockingjay has yet to reach cinemas, but for the cast, this week marked the end of the entire movie saga.

Yes, filming on the fourth and final film – Mockingjay: Part 2 – wrapped this week, with producer Nina Jacobson confirming the news on Twitter.

Jacobson tweeted this snap, which shows stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Woody Harrelson marking the end with a hug.

Producer Frances Lawrence had also been on the Twitter countdown, tweeting when there were five days left, one scene, and then finally adding, “That’s a wrap”.

Of course, the silver lining is that fans are yet to see the films, which splits the final book of the trilogy into two. Indeed the first film, which will see Lawrence back as Hunger Games victor Katniss Everdeen, won’t be on the big screen until November of this year. So there’s still plenty more Hunger Games action for the whole troop.

Jacobson has been good at documenting the cast’s time on set, including this sweet picture of Buttercup the cat taking a rest between takes.
