Downton Abbey is poised to return to our telly screens later this year. And that means the cast and crew are currently busy at work making sure those episodes are ready for us.
It takes around six months to film the series’ eight episodes as well as a feature-length Christmas special – and seeing as the cast began work back in February, we can assume most of the filming is already under their belts.
We are yet to find out anything concrete about the upcoming series though. Or see any official pictures of the drama. That is, until now.
The first image of filming has been shared on ITV Drama’s official Facebook page. And while it doesn’t feature any cast (unless you count that lovely lamp), or give us any clues about what’s to come, it’s enough to get us excited….
Alongside the new image, the broadcaster posted: “Filming is well underway for the brand new series of Downton Abbey and we’re getting super excited. Who’s with us?”
We certainly are, ITV.
Downton Abbey will return for a fifth series and a Christmas special later this year.
