Gethin Anthony, who starred in hit HBO fantasy drama Game of Thrones, is swapping his role as almost-King Renly for a turn as criminal cult leader Charles Manson.
The 30-year-old British star, whose TV CV also includes Holby City, Doctors and Call the Midwife, will star as the musician and commune leader, in NBC's series Aquarius, reports TV Line.
Anthony joins David Duchovny, Grey Damon, Emma Dumont in the 13-episode drama, which is set in 1967.
Aquarius will follow LAPD police officer Sam Hodiak (Duchovny) as he hunts down Manson, who was jailed in the 70s.
The series is being written by John McNamara and being executive produced by Duchovny.
