Well, how's this for seeing double? The first picture from upcoming Krays biopic Legend shows Tom Hardy as both of the infamous gangster twins.
The film, written and directed by Brian Helgeland, will see the Inception actor play Ronnie and Reggie Kray: the identical brothers who terrorised London's underworld in the 1960s. The cast also includes Emily Browning as Frances Shea, Reggie's estranged wife who died in 1967. An inquest ruled that she committed suicide, however a former lover of Reggie claimed that Ronnie killed Frances in a jealous rage.
The role (or roles, rather) see Hardy taking on yet another tough acting challenge, after previously having bulked up, lost weight, acted under a mask and, more recently, done an entire film solo in the setting of a car in Locke. The picture (below) shows a startling resemblance between Hardy and the gangsters.
Legend is filming in London at the moment, and includes a supporting cast of David Thewlis, Christopher Eccleston, Taron Egerton, Tara Fitzgerald and Chazz Palminteri.
The Kray twins have previously been the subject of a 1980s biopic starring Gary and Martin Kemp from Spandau Ballet.
