As power housemate, Pauline Bennett has granted Helen Wood a free pass to the Big Brother final.

The 49-year-old - who had a brush with fame in the nineties when she rapped on Kylie Minogue's top ten hit Shocked - chose her 27-year-old housemate as the lucky recipient of the award.

Watching the action from the house on a screen in the Control Room, Pauline said, "It's a choice between two people. The person i'm going to pick is - you're going to kill me for this - Helen."

Helen - who hit headlines three years ago for her reported involvement with Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney - was then told to step into a transparent case where Big Brother told her the good news before showering the box in gold glitter.

Back in the Control Room, Pauline wiped away tears and told Big Brother she was "happy". As the series continues, so does her "power trip" but Big Brother warned the next decision she has to make "won't be for the better".
