Up 17 uncarpeted, shabby steps lies the home of one of literature's best-loved detectives. And while Sherlock Holmes' abode isn't much to look at from the inside, these days it would occupy some seriously lucrative real estate in the heart of central London. So just how much would 221B Baker Street be worth if it was real? 

Well, luckily for those pondering such a question (here at RadioTimes.com it's given us plenty of sleepless nights), property company Movoto have made some detailed calculations to deduce the exact value of Arthur Conan Doyle's fictional flat. The figure? A mighty £1,691,028 (probably a little steep for BBC1's production budget). Here's how they did it...
