Over the weekend it was revealed that Strictly Come Dancing veterans Artem Chigvintsev and James Jordan will be exiting the show ahead of the new series. The official BBC statement offered a "huge thank you" to James and Artem for "being hardworking, dedicated dancers on the show" before wishing them all the best for the future.
But the two pro dancers had rather differing reactions to the news, which they both shared on Twitter...
Fan favourite Artem took to his account to confirm his decision to remain in the States where he performs on Dancing with the Stars.
Meanwhile, James – whose wife Ola has signed up for the forthcoming 12th series of Strictly – revealed his true feelings on the social networking site after the BBC announced he had turned down a reduced role which would have left him without a celebrity partner.
Also absent from this year's list of main dancers is Anya Garnis who recently partnered Casualty actor Patrick Robinson but will return in a smaller capacity as part of the show's choreography team.
Replacing James and Artem are two new faces – Tristan MacManus and Joanne Clifton. The latter is the sister of series regular Kevin – who danced with TV presenter Susanna Reid – marking the first time two siblings have participated on the show.
Tristan joins after three years working on Dancing With the Stars where he partnered the likes of Gladys Knight and Pamela Anderson. Professional dancer Natalie Lowe will also return after withdrawing from last year's series due to injury. See the full list of this year's professionals below:
