Showrunner Kurt Sutter got the buzz around the new season of Sons of Anarchy going with a deadpan Tweet: “Day 1 of shooting season 7. good luck all. don’t f**k it up.”
Sutter also told fans that the first three episodes are ready to film, and that writers are currently penning episodes four to six.
The series production crew are currently based in Central Los Angeles at S Flower Street and W 11th Sreet.
Residents may catch a glimpse of lead star Charlie Hunnam, who will return as Jax Teller, and they may also get to see an unexpected face – a new recurring character is set to be played by metal singer Marilyn Manson.
Manson will take on the role of prison white supremacist Ron Tully. Manson said he took the role as a tribute to his father. “Sons [of Anarchy] has been such a big part of my life, as well as my father's," he explained. “The very heart of SOA is about [the father-son] relationship ... I was determined to make him proud by being involved in what will probably be remembered as the most amazing piece of television cinema."
This is not Manson’s first on-screen role, he has played parts in Eastbound & Down, Party Monster and Jawbreaker.
Focusing on a rebel motorcycle gang in California, Sons of Anarchy began in 2008 and will end in 2014. Season seven, the final series, will air in September this year in the US.
