Maddy Hill, the actress who plays Nancy Carter in BBC1's EastEnders, picked up the British Soap Award for Best Newcomer at last night's ceremony in London - and you can see her acceptance speech below.
Hill saw off competition from Charlie Clapham (Hollyoaks), Amy Kelly (Coronation Street) and Michael Parr (Emmerdale) at the star-studded bash at the Hackney Empire.
The Best Newcomer prize was one of two awards handed out to EastEnders, the other being an Outstanding Achievement (Off-Screen) trophy for Carolyn Weinstein, the soap's Company Manager.
After taking to the stage, Maddy Hill thanked executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins and her on-screen family and added that her time on EastEnders had been "the best six months of my life".
The British Soap Awards air tonight on ITV at 8.15pm.
