If you managed to get to the end of ITV’s John Simm thriller Prey without suffering heart palpitations, we bring good news (of a sort): prepare for another rollercoaster ride.

ITV programmes boss Peter Fincham has revealed that he has every intention of recommissioning a second series of the impressive and taut thriller.

"I would love it to come back and I will try to make sure that it does," he told RadioTimes.com

If it gets the go ahead it will be welcomed by fans glued to the three-part drama which focused on Simm’s character Detective Sergeant Marcus Farrow (John Simm) and his bid to clear himself of the murders of his wife and son while on the run.

Other stars included Rosie Cavaliero, Craig Parkinson, Anastasia Hille and Adrian Edmondson in the drama which was filmed in a bold guerrilla documentary style.

Written by newcomer Chris Lunt Prey was described as “a breathless, confident and taut thriller” by Radio Times TV editor Alison Graham.
