EastEnders - 8pm, BBC1

There’s high drama at Lucy’s funeral as Max gets ejected from the church (no doubt dragging his heels as per usual) and Tam finds a card that reads “Rot in Hell”…

Over at the Vic the Carters are getting things ready for the wake, and thoughts of family prompt Dean to give Shirley another chance - but their reunion proves short-lived thanks to Stan's meddling.

Happy Valley - 9pm, BBC1

If the last instalment of this dark, dark crime drama left you traumatised, this one (directed by Wainwright) will leave your fingernails bitten to the quick and your heart raw with anxiety.

Sergeant Catherine Cawood (Lancashire), such a reassuring figure in her creaking, bulky high-visibility jacket, asks questions about that derelict house. She and her little team are still grappling with their sorrow, but life has to go on and enquiries have to be made.

Later Live - with Jools Holland - 10:00pm, BBC2

New York R&B artist Kelis performs tracks from her latest album Food, Chrissie Hynde of Pretenders plays songs from her first solo long-player Stockholm and singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran showcases tunes from his forthcoming record X. Plus, music by Texas indie-rock band White Denim, Cambridge born multi-instrumentalist Nick Mulvey and New Orleans alt-country group Hurray for the Riff Raff.
