Cilla Black is having quite the year. Not only is she celebrating half a century in showbiz, but she’s also got a Bafta Special Award to add to her mantlepiece AND a three-part ITV drama chronicling her early years in the business.
RadioTimes.com chatted to the Bafta TV Awards’ special guest on Sunday’s red carpet to hear all about the upcoming biopic starring Sheridan Smith as the singer and Blind Date presenter. Aneurin Barnard plays Cilla’s late husband Bobby Willis who passed away from cancer in 1999. “He came round to my flat in Westminster and he first words out of my mouth were ‘Hello Bobby,’ revealed Cilla.”
