Episodes, 10pm BBC2
The dramedy about how the sanity of two sensible Brits wilts in the Hollywood sun returns for a third series. Episodes’ performances – including Matt LeBlanc as a monstrous version of himself – are always a joy, even if the writing sometimes feels as if it relies too much on them.
In this series opener, Stephen Mangan and Tamsin Greig's characters are back together (after the bed-hopping LeBlanc ruined things for a while) and back in love.
Coast Australia, 9:10pm BBC2
Having exhausted the coastlines of Britain and Europe, the Coast team jumps hemispheres and heads to Australia. Neil Oliver strides across a beach in flip-flops, his man-bag casually slung over his shoulder, as he explodes with joy about this "majestic" and "breathtaking" country.
He’s right, it looks gorgeous, all of those copper-coloured mountains and azure seas, and the Coast camera crew does its usual bang-up job to bring us some dizzyingly beautiful images.
MasterChef, 9pm BBC1
Sixty amateur cooks have been reduced to just four, who must now tackle a challenge that’s even more daunting than cooking for restaurant critics: the Chef’s Table. After this the cooks must design a dish that showcases chicken and, in a new twist, the weakest two cook again so that John Torode and Gregg Wallace can decide which of them will go through to the next round and then the final.
