will.i.am has slammed a US airline after claiming he was "kicked out" of its first class lounge despite showing his membership card.

The music producer, Voice UK coach and prolific tweeter took to Twitter to share his frustration, saying "#unitedAIRLINES is the worse. Im a member & I have my card to prove it. but they tell me my card is fake & kick me out the lounge #ouch".

"I fly so much...a business should know who their customers are...its ok im making this my lounge," he added, posting a picture of a chair next to a bin in the airport, along with another of a United Airlines Global First Lounge sign.

It seems not everyone failed to recognise the Black Eyed Peas star, though – will.i.am added that after he'd been turfed out of the lounge a pilot from the same airline asked to take a selfie with him...
