Sarah Silverman will be swapping stand up for sex research in the second series of Masters of Sex.
The 43-year-old actress and comedian is joining the cast of Showtime’s Masters of Sex in a recurring role, alongside Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan, reports Variety.
American network Showtime has revealed that her character will be called Helen. But asides from that there are no details on Silverman’s part in the drama, which follows notorious sex researchers William Masters and Virginia Johnson as they break down medical boundaries and help spark the sexual revolution.
Silverman, whose TV CV includes Saturday Night Live, The Sarah Silverman, The Simpsons and The Good Wife, is also set to star in Seth MacFarlane’s upcoming film A Million Ways to Die in the West.
The second series of Masters of Sex, which airs on Channel 4 in the UK, is currently in production in Los Angeles.
