What's a TV viewer to do? You spend two years avidly watching your favourite US show and then your UK broadcaster goes and drops it.

That is exactly what's happened to fans of American political thriller Scandal which had earned itself a loyal fan base this side of the pond before More4 announced they would not be showing the current third series.

The show from Shonda Rhimes, creator of Grey's Anatomy, stars Kerry Washington as Washington crisis solver Olivia Pope and pulled in 110,000 overnight viewers to More4 during its second season finale last November.

Channel 4 have released an official statement confirming the news, telling frustrated viewers, "We appreciate that this may be disappointing news to fans of the show, and decisions like these are never taken lightly, but please be assured that, as always, we're striving to bring other new and exciting shows to the channel."

However, it's not all bad news. RadioTimes.com can confirm that The Good Wife starring Julianna Margulies and Chris Noth will be returning to More4 for a sixth series.
