Last night's EastEnders cliffhanger saw Ian (Adam Woodyatt) and Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) seek support in each other's arms following the death of Lucy. But what happens following their moment of unexpected passion?
Well, RadioTimes.com can now reveal that Jane and Ian do end up sleeping together and that Monday's episode will see tensions exacerbated at the Beale house as a result. Feeling guilty about what she's done, Jane will be seen overcompensating with Masood (Nitin Ganatra). Ian, meanwhile, is acting exactly the opposite, unwilling to even acknowledge Denise (Diane Parish).
When Denise turns up at Masood's, Jane panics, but Denise tells her that Bobby needs her and Jane realises she has to face Ian. Jane is startled when Ian explains that he wants them to get together and tries to let him down gently. But when Ian snaps at a heartbroken Bobby and tells him he is back together with Jane, it all gets too much for her - what will she do?
Speaking at a recent press launch about her career plans, actress Laurie Brett revealed that she is set to resume filming on schools drama Waterloo Road but will return to EastEnders later in the year:
"I'm on screen until the funeral and then I do have a job commitment, but then I will be back in September once I've finished at Waterloo Road," she said.
Executive producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins added that Brett's return would then be "permanent".
