Crisis – the latest hostage thriller to get America talking – will air in the UK on Watch later this year.
The 13-part series starring Gillian Anderson and Dermot Mulroney follows the abduction of several children of Washington DC's most powerful players, including the President's son. With some of the country's most influential parents at the mercy of a vengeful mastermind, will they put the nation at risk to protect their children?
Anderson plays Meg Fitch, the CEO of a conglomerate, whose daughter is one of those abducted, while Dermot Mulroney is Francis Gibson, a chaperone on the ill-fated school trip and an ex-CIA field operative.
Joining them are Rachel Taylor playing Meg's estranged sister, Agent Susie Dunn, and Lance Gross as Agent Marcus Finley.
"Watch brings its audience another irresistible UK premiere," said Steve Hornsey, the channel's general manager. "Crisis is an exciting and original conspiracy thriller full of unexpected plot twists. It captures the current enthusiasm for political intrigue in a fast-paced and dramatic character story, brought to life by a fantastic ensemble cast."
