Hollywood's favourite funny ladies Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are reuniting on the big screen for new comedy The Nest, which is set to start filming this summer.
The movie will star Fey and Poehler as sisters who learn that their parents are selling their family home and subsequently decide to have one last wild weekend there. It will be penned by Paula Pell, who is currently a staff writer for Saturday Night Live, which happens to be where Fey and Poehler first met. How fitting.
This isn't the first time these real-life BFFs have graced the big screen together. In 2004, Fey and Poehler both appeared in Mean Girls, which Fey penned herself. The 2008 comedy Baby Mama, however, was the first movie the duo co-headlined. Fey plays a woman in her late thirties eager to have a baby, and Poehler stars as her obnoxious, immature surrogate mother. Needless to say, hilariousness ensues.
Most recently, these queens of comedy have brought the laughs during two consecutive stints as co-hosts of the Golden Globes. Our favourite line from their 2014 opening monologue? "Gravity is nominated for best film. It's the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age." I swear, these women can do no wrong.
