Actress Gwendoline Christie is making the leap from fantasy hit Game of Thrones to The Hunger Games for the concluding film in the franchise.
Gwendoline, who plays Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones (which returns in the early hours of tomorrow morning – but you knew that, right?) is to play Commander Lyme.
Lyme, like Jennifer Lawrence’s Katniss, is a Hunger Games victor and will join the revolution against the Capitol in the second half of the two-part ending.
Christie isn’t the first Game of Thrones star to join the cast of The Hunger Games. Fellow GoT cast member Natalie Dormer has been cast as Cressida, a resident of the Capitol who also joins the revolt.
Christie is said to be replacing American Horror Story actress Lily Rabe, who according to Deadline, is unable to commit to the role due to scheduling commitments.
