Strictly Come Dancing 2014: Bookies slash odds of Sir Bruce Forsyth taking part

Is this what it’s all been about? Sir Bruce Forsyth taking to the dance floor himself on Strictly Come Dancing?

Perhaps not.

But bookies William Hill have slashed the odds of Sir Bruce taking to the dance floor from 100/1 to 25/1.

“Personally I cannot see Sir Bruce deciding to take part but obviously there are a lot of people out there who do. It would certainly make great telly,” says William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams.

One thing is for sure, he’d know how to handle those judges. Craig Revel Horwood wouldn’t have him shaking in his dance shoes, that’s for sure. Of course he’d have a ready made army of support from Strictly fans, plus remaining host Tess Daly would be in his corner.

Is this starting to sound like a good idea?

News of the popular host’s decision to step away from the show has of course caused all sorts of speculation as to who will take over.

Claudia Winkleman remains hot favourite at 2/1, stepping in for Bruce during last year’s series on numerous occasions. Thought to be due to illness.

Professional dancer Anton Du Beke’s odds have fallen from 3/1 to 5/2.

Other names in the mix include presenter Graham Norton and former Strictly champ and cricketer Darren Gough.
