As excitement around the judging line-up on X Factor 2014 builds (who WILL Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole choose?) attention has turned to the hosts of X Factor spin-off show, Xtra Factor.

But on rumours that comedian Matt Richardson won’t be reprising his hosting slot on the ITV2 show, sources say it’s “far too early to say” who will host.

Richardson joined the show last year, taking over from former contestant Olly Murs.

“No one’s been told they’re not coming back,” a source tells RadioTimes.com, as names including former contestant Rylan Clark are thrown into the mix as potential replacements.

The Big Brother’s Bit on the Side host told Heat magazine, “I’m waiting to hear on Xtra. I’ve had meetings and it’s the year of returns – I’d love to return. I’d be over the moon.”

While a discussion with Rylan has taken place, the source adds, “We have kind of had preliminary discussions with people, looking at what the presenting line up will be for Xtra Factor this year. It could very well stay the same, it could change. I don’t yet, it’s far too early to say.”

The X Factor and Xtra Factor returns later this year
