Did you miss him? Well here he is again, this time not dead on the roof of St Bart’s Hospital but alive and well on the One Show sofa alongside Matt Baker and Alex Jones.

Yes, Andrew Scott, aka Sherlock villain Moriarty, guests on tonight’s programme, where he’s ostensibly on to discuss his new film The Stag but is hardly likely to get away without a few questions about his unexpected and enigmatic return from the dead at the end of Sherlock series three.

Is Moriarty really alive? Or are creators Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat going to get lynched by fans? Will Andrew Scott answer either of those questions? Probably not...

Elton John is also on the show, celebrating the album and the outfits that made him famous, Patrick Kielty and Amy Williams discuss Sport Relief's Clash of the Titans, Ann Widdecombe and Vicky Pryce ask whether women should be treated more leniently by the prison system and Anita Rani takes a look at the military hardware kept at British bases.

The One Show is tonight at 7pm on BBC1
