After catching a glimpse of Stacey (Lacey Turner) at the climax to yesterday’s episode, Max (Jake Wood) finds himself desperate to see his former flame in scenes to be shown this evening.
However, with emotions running high following the sudden exit of Luke (Matt Willis), Stacey shuts herself away. But Max eventually persuades her to let him in – with Stacey’s future in Walford hanging in the balance, can he persuade her to do what’s best for her and Lily?
Tonight’s episode of EastEnders marks the first time that the pair have shared a scene since Stacey fled the Square back in 2010.
Long-term viewers will remember that it was Janine’s attempts to convince both the police and her family that Stacey had tried to kill her which led to Stacey leaving the country thanks to the assistance of one-time lover Max.
Back in 2007, the Christmas episode that saw the exposure of Max and Stacey’s affair (at the time she was married to his son Bradley) was watched by nearly 14 million viewers.
