James Bond actor Pierce Brosnan to arrive in Bulgaria’s capital for Survivor film shoot

The Mamma Mia! star will head to Sofia to film his new movie, staring Emma Thompson and Milla Jovovich


Pierce Brosnan is set to arrive in Sofia, Bulgaria, to shoot his new movie Survivor – about a female foreign service officer in London who tries to stop a terrorist attack planned in New York.


The $35 million movie will also star Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil), Emma Thompson (An Education, Love Actually) and Angela Bassett (American Horror Story, Malcolm X).

Much of the movie will be filmed at Eastern Europe’s biggest film studios – Nu Boyana – on the outskirts of Sofia. Scenes from Bad Lieutenant, The Expendables and The Black Dahlia were also shot in the area.

The acclaimed James McTeigue (Martix, V for Vendetta) will direct the movie, due for release in 2015.
