While Netflix collect silverware for House of Cards and Orange Is the New Black, Amazon is putting faith in its first original content, Alpha House.
The political sitcom stars John Goodman, Clark Johnson, Matt Malloy and Mark Consuelos and after a critically-acclaimed first series, Goodman tells RadioTimes.com that Amazon have put in an order for a second.
Speaking on the red carpet at last night’s Monuments Men premiere in London’s Leicester Square, Goodman exclusively revealed that the cast would be returning, telling us “We start again in July.” However, the 61-year-old actor said he’s yet to see any scripts for the second series – written by Doonesbury cartoonist Garry Trudeau – confirming, “I won’t see them until I get there.”
Set in Washington DC, Alpha House follows four Republican senators sharing a house – a set-up inspired by a real-life story. Featuring appearances from the likes of Sex and the City’s Cynthia Nixon and The Sixth Sense’s Haley Joel Osment, Alpha House has also had input from Goodman’s Monuments Men co-stars with Bob Balaban directing and Bill Murray putting in a cameo.
You can currently watch the first season of Alpha House on Amazon.
