You might know her as the kind, good-hearted and strong-willed Stark matriarch Catelyn in hit HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones, but Michelle Fairley is going over to the dark side…
The 50-year-old Northern Irish actress is set to play a villain in the revival of American thriller series 24.
Fairley is joining Keifer Sutherland, as well as Brit Stephen Fry, in the cast of 24: Live Another Day as Margot, a British national and widow of a notorious terrorist.
It was a role previously filled by Judy Davis, before the Australian actress dropped out of filming last week citing personal matters.
24: Live Another Day sees Kiefer Sutherland reprise his role as agent Jack Bauer, reuniting with former co-stars Kim Raver, William Devane and Mary Lynn Rajskub. The series, which will feature 12 episodes rather than 24, will pick up with the action four years on, with Bauer in London.
24 originally ran for eight seasons between 2001 and 2010, earning multiple Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.
24: Live Another Day is currently filming in the UK.
