Former TOWIE star Amy Childs has been eliminated from Channel 4’s The Jump after pulling out of the ‘jump off’ against So Macho singer Sinitta.
Both ladies chose to jump from the K15, the smallest of the three jumps. But having struggled with the ski jump in training, Amy decided not to attempt the jump in the live event.
This meant Sinitta had to land a successful jump, regardless of the distance, to stay in the competition. Sinitta did exactly that, pulling off a jump of 10 metres to rapturous applause.
For the two ladies, it had been far from easy even making it to the bottom two.
All of the female celebs had earlier faced the terrifying skeleton run, which saw them bomb down the icy track on what’s ‘affectionately’ referred to as a tea tray.
Of all the celebrities, presenter Anthea Turner seemed the most up for the challenge, even joking about joining the next Olympics. But it was former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt who stormed to victory, with an impressive time of 44.180. Melina Messenger being Kimberly’s closest competitor at 44.604 seconds.
Kimberly celebrated her win with a shot of schnapps with co-host Alex Brooker. You know, as you do.
While the men got to sit back and watch tonight, they face exactly the same task tomorrow. Host Davina McCall described their training as “brutal”.
Olympian and coach Amy Williams concurred, adding that that there were far more bumps along the track when the men took to the run.
All that and another ski jump challenge to look forward to tomorrow night as one more celebrity will be sent home.
