Chart-toppers McFly and Adele may very well have some hidden talent in their families – and their relatives are hoping The Voice is the place to show it off.
McFly star Danny Jones’s sister is taking to the stage tonight, in the hope of wowing coaches Kylie Minogue, Sir Tom Jones, Ricky Wilson and will.i.am into chair-spinning action.
“I was in bands with Danny when we were younger but when he ended up in McFly, I was a bit stuck,” Vicky Jones tells the Sun.
Vicky didn’t even invite Danny to the auditions, saying, “I’m not jealous of Danny. He worked so hard,” adding, “I wanted it to be about me.”
Will the chairs spin? With her cover of Bon Jovi’s Bed of Roses, Vicky’s certainly hoping they will.
Also popping up is Adele’s distant cousin Georgia Harrup, who only found out about the family connection in the last few years. Georgie admits that Adele is an inspiration and that the aim is to be “as good as her”.
But Georgia, who is singing a version of Ray Charles’s Hallelujah, wants to make it on her own and doesn’t want the Skyfall singer to feel “obliged” to help her.
Georgie adds, “If she made contact I think I’d sit there in a daze.”
