Dermot O'Leary may have been on This Morning earlier this week, but the show's presenter Phillip Schofield claims he's not afraid of losing his job to The X Factor host.

"He's shorter than I am. And I know people," quipped Schofield in response to the suggestion, after collecting the award for Best Daytime Show at the National Television Awards 2014.

O'Leary lost out in the Best Entertainment Presenter Award to Ant and Dec, and now it seems he'll have to concentrate on his X Factor duties rather than prepare for an early start.

This Morning has won nine Daytime Show NTAs since it began in 1988. On being asked what the secret is to the magazine show's success, Schofield said “It’s a show that knows it’s own personality."
