Natalie Dormer has revealed a dramatic new hair style.
The Game of Thrones and Elementary actress, who usually boasts an impressive mane of long blonde hair, has shaved half of her head.
But don’t worry. Margaery Tyrell hasn’t gone and got herself an edgy new do. Dormer’s dramatic new look is for her role in the upcoming Hunger Games film Mockingjay.
The 31-year-old British-born actress has been cast as Cressida in the two-part finale to the film franchise, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth.
Cressida is a young film director from the Capitol who joins the revolution and films Katniss as she journeys around Panem. In the books she is described as being completely bald with bright green vines tattooed on her head. But from what we can see of Dormer’s new style, she won’t be going the whole hog…
“Francis Lawrence, the director of Mockingjay, and I discussed it and I took the job on the premise that I would possibly shave my whole head,” Dormer told Entertainment Weekly.
“I’m actually really pleased that we went halfway because I think it’s more the Capitol… and that’s where Cressida comes from,” added Dormer. “She comes from the Capitol, so she’s got a stylized thing going on and now she’s turned rebel. I think it’s right for the character.”
The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – part one will be in UK cinemas 21 November 2014.
