Gravity star Sandra Bullock was the toast of the 40th annual People’s Choice Awards in Hollywood last night, picking up four gongs at the public-voted ceremony.
Bullock, who is tipped to win several more awards in the next few weeks for her role as Dr Ryan Stone in Alfonso Cuaron’s space thriller, picked up favourite movie actress, favourite dramatic movie actress, favourite comedic movie actress, for her role in The Heat, and favourite movie duo, an award she shared with her Gravity co-star George Clooney.
Gravity also picked up an award for favourite dramatic movie, while The Heat won favourite comedic film.
Robert Downey Jr won favourite action movie actor, with his most recent film Iron Man 3 taking home favourite movie and favourite action movie, while Johnny Depp won favourite movie actor, despite his film Lone Ranger failing to impress at the box office.
The Big Bang Theory won favourite network TV comedy, with star of the show Kaley Cuoco taking home favourite comedic TV actress.
Over in the music categories, Britney Spears won favourite pop artist while One Direction were awarded the title of favourite band and Katy Perry’s Roar was named favourite song.
The ceremony was hosted by 2 Broke Girls’ Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs.
