The third Hunger Games movie is well underway. The cast and crew of Mockingjay: Part I were spotted filming in Atlanta last week, now they’ve moved 30 miles outside the city to Newnan.
There’s no sign of Josh Hutcherson (who plays Peeta Mellark) and Jennifer Lawrence (who plays Katniss Everdeen) yet. They no doubt have time off for Christmas, but police officers and security have been guarding a water tank company called Caldwell Tanks. Locals are no longer allowed in and the grounds are full of movie trailers. It’s believed the stars will arrive in due course.
Weeks before Hunger Games: Catching Fire was released; movie producers were spotted in the area, supposedly scouting out the location. It’s rumoured that crew were building a coliseum here, which will play a vital part in the next movie.
Mockingjay will be divided into two films, and is set to include new material, which isn’t in Suzanne Collins’ original books.
