Here it is. Your first official glimpse of the Downton Abbey Christmas special.
A 60-second trailer of the hit ITV period drama’s festive offering has been released, and what an episode it promises to be.
Though we wish it was set at Christmas, from the looks of it, the feature-length special will be filled with enough pomp and ceremony to please Downton fans the nation over.
The Dowager Countess and Martha Levinson are already at loggerheads. Rose is dancing with royalty. Daisy is getting love letters. Branson and Sarah Bunting are growing closer. Bates is being all suspicious. Edith’s looking forlorn. Mary evidently is yet to decide between her two suitors. And from the sounds of it there will be plenty of added drama, too – “I expect many people must regret things they got up to in London,” says Lady Mary.
We don’t know about you, but we can barely contain our excitement.
Downton Abbey’s Christmas special is on Christmas Day at 8:30pm on ITV.
