Actors including David Witts (Joey Branning), Jasmyn Banks (Alice Branning), Nitin Ganatra (Masood Ahmed) and Charlie Brooks (Janine Butcher) can be seen preparing for their special performance that is set to feature a plethora of dance styles from Bollywood to ballroom.
This year’s fundraising extravaganza will be broadcast live for the first time from the Albert Square set at BBC Elstree from 7.30pm following an edition of The One Show at 7.00pm that comes from the Queen Vic pub.
The show’s executive producer Paul Wright said of this evening’s evening’s event: “BBC Children in Need’s move to a new home has unlocked the gates to Albert Square which will bring even more excitement to Appeal night. I am thrilled with the spectacular line-up making it the biggest and most ambitious night in the show’s long history.”
Other highlights are set to include Olympic ice legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean going head to head in a Strictly Come Dancing special, while Frank Skinner hosts a children’s edition of Room 101.
This isn’t, of course, the first time that EastEnders has collaborated with Children in Need: last year’s The Walford Apprentice saw Lord Sugar making a surprise visit to E20, while 2011 saw the soap’s stars perform a Queen tribute.
