Martin Freeman is “naughty” according to the cast of The Hobbit

Graham McTavish and Jed Brophy who play Dwalin and Nori in Peter Jackson's trilogy recall the Sherlock actors on-set pranks

Those of us who follow Sherlock are fully aware of Martin Freeman’s sense of humour – Benedict Cumberbatch recently attributed his comic timing to “the master” – so it comes as no surprise that the stars of The Hobbit are full of praise for their “naughty” co-star.

In an exclusive clip, the cast and crew of Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy recall the Sherlock actor’s hijinks on set…

“Martin is great,” says Graham McTavish who plays Dwalin. “He’s one of those guys who is able to be completely professional but when the camera’s not on him…very, very naughty.”

And as if proof were needed, there’s a clip of Martin directly disobeying instructions from his director, shaking his head before telling the camera, “he does not know what he’s talking about.”

Jed Brophy aka Nori concludes, “We have a lot of natural comedians in the cast but he is by far the funniest.”
