Newsnight host Jeremy Paxman is far more used to asking the questions when it comes to TV interviews, but the tables are set to turn when the journalist and writer makes a rare chat show appearance on The Graham Norton Show on 1 November.

You just know Graham is going to be asking the important questions – how he keeps his beard so bushy, when, why and how he shaves it.  It’ll be like that Paxo/Michael Howard interview all over again.

As this series continues to pack in the big-name guests (we’ve already had Harrison Ford, Benedict Cumberbatch and Sir Paul McCartney) Paxman will be flanked by music legend Sir Elton John, silver screen queen Dame Judi Dench and the soon-to-be host of the Royal Variety Performance comedian John Bishop.

Perhaps Graham can just take the evening off, or tip the red chair back and have a kip while Paxman asks the questions? Too many chefs and all that…

Sir Elton will also be providing the musical entertainment. Naturally.

The Graham Norton Show continues Fridays, 10:35pm, BBC1
