Sunday night is all about the guest acts, right? And X Factor came out fighting tonight with both Robin Thicke and Katy Perry taking to the stage.
We’ll just casually ignore the fact that last year’s winner James Arthur is busy promoting his latest single and could have probably done with a slot on the show…
Robin turned up, foam finger and Miley Cyrus-less, with his crew of dancing women… looking like X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell.
Black suit, open white shirt, square cut hair – it was like he’d forgotten his clothes and had to make do with what was in Mr Cowell’s old dressing room.
Ms Perry showed Thicke how it was done in her tiger get up. She coyly avoided host Dermot O’Leary’s probing as to whether she’d join the X Factor juding panel, saying she’d like to give “constructive criticism”.
Back to the results and it was Shelley Smith from Sharon Osbourne’s Overs back in the bottom two, battling against boy band Kingsland Road from Gary Barlow’s groups. But after Gary and Sharon voted to save their own acts and Nicole Scherzinger voted to save Kingsland Road, it was all on Louis Walsh.
Sharon launched into a charm offensive (read: she smooched Louis to within an inch of his life) but it wasn’t enough to save Shelley.
That leaves Sharon with just one act, Sam Bailey, left in the competition.
