They say never meet you hero – you’ll either end up being disappointed, or making a fool of yourself. Can you guess what happened when Star Wars fan Benedict Cumberbatch met Star Wars legend Harrison Ford? I’ll give you a clue; he wasn’t disappointed…
“When I met you in LA at a party we talked and I made a complete idiot of myself,” Cumberbatch told Ford when the pair were reunited on Graham Norton’s sofa.
“You were very nice but I said, ‘I am a really, really big fan, I used to fantasise about you…’ What I meant to say was I used to fantasise about being Hans Solo and Indy. You took it very well and said, ‘It takes all sorts!’”
Luckily, Benedict’s first impression on Ford didn’t have a lasting effect on his view of the Cumberbrand as a whole. “I am a big fan of yours. I think the Sherlock Holmes thing is amazing,” said Harrison.
But will the pair be working together soon on JJ Abrams’ Star Wars film?
“I’ve not quite made the choice,” said Ford.
