If you've fallen for the TV antics of Chelsea's glamorous socialites then grab the closest bottle of champagne and toast today's good news...
Following on from the show's Bafta win earlier this year, Channel 4 have ordered three more series of their scripted reality show Made in Chelsea, ensuring Spencer, Jamie and co will remain on our screens until the end of 2014.
The most recent fifth series enjoyed an average audience of 1.1 million – its highest to date – on C4's entertainment channel E4 and scored the cast their Bafta win in May for best reality and constructed reality television show.
Channel 4's Head of Formats, Dominic Bird, said, "Following an unmissable series five and a Bafta award, we're delighted to be able to show our commitment with a three series deal. We look forward to following the lives and loves of the Chelsea set over the next year."
The show's executive producer, Sarah Dillistone, added, "All the cast are hugely excited and we'll also be introducing some new faces to the show who promise to bring even more drama to SW3 over the next year and a half."
First hitting our screens in May 2011, Made in Chelsea's glossy-haired, cocktail-quaffing cast have established themselves as mainstays of the E4 schedule, with their ostentatious antics finding a ready audience – despite initial criticism when the show was first commissioned.
Several high-profile depatures over the years – including original cast members Caggie Dunlop, Hugo Taylor, Millie Mackintosh and Ollie Locke – have not dented the show's fortunes, with a sixth series about to launch on Monday 14 October.
