The country has become the 13th country to license the Love Productions format following the breadcrumb trail of Italy, France, Australia, and Sweden among others.
The Teutonic version of the BBC2 hit show, which is currently airing its 4th series and averages 7 million viewers per episode, will premiere later this year.
Das große Backen will be filmed near Dusseldorf, Schoss Dyck, and will feature a jury of the best pastry chefs in the country.
