DAME DIANA RIGG
Nominated for: Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series
Role: Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones
Dame Diana Rigg, 75, has been nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series, for her role as Lady Olenna Tyrell in Game of Thrones.
As the prickly Queen of Thorns, Rigg managed to steal every scene from the show’s vast cast. It’s been a while, but Rigg is no stranger to either the Emmys or sexy adventures.
She was recognised back in 1967 and 1968 for British spy show The Avengers, where she played the glamorous Emma Peel. Since then, she has been nominated for In This House of Brede (1975) and Victoria & Albert (2002), while she won Best Supporting Actress for her turn as Mrs Danvers in Rebecca (1997).
She also played the only Bond Girl ever to marry the secret agent in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service.
