Leonardo DiCaprio is set to produce and star in a biopic about Woodrow Wilson, the 28th president of America.
The 38-year-old actor is in negotiations with Warner Bros. to star in a film version of Scott Berg’s biography, Wilson, as well as produce the film, according to THR.
Offering a depiction of a heroic president elected in 1912 who would Marshall the Union through the First World War, the book has been a critical success. It also offers an insight into Wilson’s life as an academic before becoming president. It is understood much of this detail may be contained in the film.
After the monumental box office and critical success of Steven Spielberg’s Lincoln, Hollywood quite understandably has an appetite for presidential period dramas. So surely “11: the James K Polk Story” can’t be far away now.
