Susanna Reid says she may not win this year's Strictly Come Dancing but she's determined to enjoy the journey.
The Breakfast presenter, 42, is in exhuberant form as she writes the first instalment in her weekly Strictly diary in the new issue of Radio Times – and even hints that she is no stranger to nights out clubbing.
"I love dancing," enthuses Reid. "That doesn’t mean that I’m any good at it. But when I dance – at home, or in a club – it gives me such a buzz.
"I thought: imagine learning how to dance properly, with someone who has done it all their life. What bliss. What an opportunity. What luck."
Reid, who will partner professional dancer Kevin Clifton, is clearly excited as she describes her first week preparing for Strictly.
"I have landed! In a sequin-encrusted rocket in the helium-rich atmosphere of Planet Strictly. Everyone here is a gorgeous shade of caramel, and the false eyelashes are stored in holdalls as big as suitcases."
